The Texas Women’s League is a diverse group of energetic and dedicated women working to make Fayette County a better place.

Our major fundraiser, the Spring Charity Gala, is held annually on the first Saturday of March. Our first Gala, held in 2004, made it possible for the League to fund $14,500 to 14 charitable or non-profit organizations. Since then, the number of charities requesting funds has grown, as has our ability to fund all or part of their requests. With the proceeds from six Galas, we have distributed over one quarter of a million dollars to deserving non-profit and charitable organizations in Fayette County.

Each year, non-profits and charities are invited to request funds to be raised by the League through the following year’s Gala. Each voting member casts her votes for the charities of her choice. Votes are tabulated and the three organizations receiving the three highest numbers of votes are selected as our charities for which we will raise funds through our Gala.

However, each year, we have been able to provide some funding to each organization that has made a request, in addition to funding all or part of the top three charities’ requests. We hope to continue this practice as long as funds raised allow.
