This year our Charity
Gala was held on March 3, 2007, at The Pavilion and The Fayette
County Fair Grounds. Twenty five charities
requested funds exceeding $80,000 and we were able to fund
$50,360.00
The Texas Women’s
League was organized in the fall of 2003 with the purpose of uniting
women to raise funds for non-profit organizations in Fayette County,
Texas.
In the spring of each
year our only fundraising event is held. The Charity Gala is an
elegant evening of gourmet food, open bar and a live band. The funds
are raised through live and silent auctions.
The first Charity
Gala was held in 2004 with ten charities applying for funding. Texas
Women's League was able to fund $14,500 to those ten charities.
Since then, the number of charities has grown as well as the ability
to fund their requests. In 2007 the League funded 25 Fayette County
charities a total of $50,360.00! To date, TWL has funded over
$140,000 to non-profits and with the support of sponsors, members
and generous people attending the Gala, the funding will continue to
grow.
The Texas Women’s
League is a 501 c 3 organization that supports Fayette County
through fundraising while experiencing fellowship and fun.
